Our first step was a preliminary connectivity test through Zoom with KEF Media’s control room to make sure our studio had a strong internet connection. The signal strength was solid and we were able to move forward.
The day before the satellite tour we met with KEF’s producer, Adriana Wells, who flew in earlier that day. We dressed the set, tested the lighting and audio, and ran a final tech test.
On the day of the satellite tour, we had a 4:30 AM call time, with a connection test/run-through at 5:30 AM and the first station interview at 6:00 AM. The crew consisted of 1 camera operator and an audio tech, a Zoom tech monitoring the connection, a make-up artist, and a floor director/producer. For gear, Peppershock provided 1 locked-down HD camera, audio, studio lights, switcher, IFB device, laptop, hardwired internet, and a monitor for the talent.
